He married Beatrice Lee Jarvis in Vancouver in 1944, but the marriage was annulled in 1946. The marriage certificate noted that Waddell was a medical herbalist by occupation.
He exhibited work at the Vancouver Art Gallery in the B.C. Artists annual in 1945. The artist was living in Vancouver. An entry form noted that he had been living in BC since 1928.
Waddell died in Vancouver in 1973 at the age of 76. He was married to Geraldine Nicholson at the time, his occupation noted as retired.
