Miss Edith Fanny Kirk
July 16 1858 - December 39 1953
Edith Fanny Kirk was born in England, and took art training at
South Kensingtion and in Europe. She
emigrated to Canada in 1905 and went straight to Vancouver. She
exhibited with the Vancouver Exhibition in
1912 (at least), noting later that she had won an award there.
"Vanished Vancouver"
She traveled extensively, including Atlin, Vancouver Island, and the
Cariboo in B.C., Alberta, the United States, and England and Europe,
before finally settling down in Lethbridge AB, where she died in 1953.
A LEGACY OF ADVENTURE AND ART, published by the Galt Museum and
Archives in 2015, is an excellent source of information on the artist
(see biblio).
