1928 art school display at P.N.E.

This interesting 1928 photograph by Dominion Photo Company shows a display of student artwork from the Vancouver School of Decorative & Applied Arts at the Pacific National Exhibition. This was the school's third year in operation, and the various categories are labeled as First, Second, and Third Year work. The 15 pages mounted on the column under the roof brace are mockups for the school's Prospectus. "First Year Plant Forms" are the bottom right group of four artworks. Irene E. Harris signed the one bottom right, and the one just left of it is signed Ione Macdonald. Unfortunately no other signatures are legible or visible. The other categories are "composition, lettering, illumination, crafts & embroidering."
