Wadds Brothers studio portrait
| This is a scan of a photocopy of a Wadds Brothers studio portrait of Thomas E. Duke, taken in 1902. I acquired this mounted photograph at an estate auction, it was in a bag of old pictures. Amazingly, I immediately recognized the face, and it turned out that he was the grandfather of Daryl Duke, who looked almost exactly like him. Thomas Duke's son married Winnifred Shearman, who was Maud Sherman's cousin, and his grand-son Daryl was very interested in his family's history, so I gave this photograph to him as a gift. Thomas Duke was a businessman, active in the community, and a Trustee of the Vancouver School Board from 1901 to 1914. Refer also to photographers of Vancouver. |
