Block Print - "To Share A Summer Pleasure"
Fred Amess and Betty Amess

This undated block print was found in an old box of business records from the Royal Savary Hotel on Savary Island. After the hotel was partially destroyed by a fire it was closed. Some time later, a yacht party exploring ashore found the box of records where it had fallen out of the hotel attic through a rotted ceiling. They took the records with them to Powell River where they remained for some years before being donated to the Savary Island Heritage Society, and the block print discovered in the pile of documents. Thanks are due to the Heritage Society for their work in preserving pieces of the island's history like this block print, and for their willingness to share this piece of the island's history. The block print is approximately 12" high by 18" wide. The text is letterpress printed.
