BRITISH COLUMBIA ARTISTS

J. Delisle Parker - Exhibition of Oils and Watercolors

Vancouver Art Gallery, April 3 - 22 1951

"John Delisle Parker is an artist whose paintings have never received the attention they so well merit. He is one of the outstanding artists in British Columbia.

He has written and to-day writes art reviews for one of our leading newspapers under the pseudonym of "Palette". He has ever been the one knowledgable and perceptive writer on art who has always detected, acclaimed and encouraged vital new talent in this province and yet he himself remains almost unknown. It is indeed time that the public became aware of his work for it has creative virtues of rare quality.

Delisle Parker is a poet in paint. In addition to this his paintings have an admirable, rich paint quality, are highly organized and embody an imagination and sensitive perception of whatever he paints. Whether it be city scenes, the Fraser Canyon, the Cariboo or Indian legends his paintings possess a poet's vision of unusual distinction."
