Henry H. Simpson was apparently from England, his name is alternately
given as Hardy or Hardey. The Dictionary of British Artists notes that
he exhibited from 1882 to 1902, was a portrait and figure painter, and
lists 9 exhibitions in which he had at least 33 artworks. By 1891
he was living at Quamichan on Vancouver Island.
