Douglas Shenstone exhibited artwork in the 1935 B.C. Artists Christmas Exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

In 1990 Shenstone wrote a book on pewter titled "For the Love of Pewter: Pewterers of Canada."

Shenstone was living in Nepean, Ontario when he died in 1991.
