NORTHERN PROSPECT
Original pen & ink drawing by Gary Sim issued July 2006
This is a view looking north from Brockton Point lighthouse, Stanley Park,
Vancouver. Across the harbour there are numerous bulk loading facilities
along the North Vancouver waterfront, with their piles of sulphur, ores,
and wood chips waiting to be shipped. Beyond them Grouse Mountain and its
peaks, once also known as the Sleeping Beauty, rises to more than 5,000 feet
above the harbour. The drawing is part of the Transient Moorage series of drawings done in 2006.
It is drawn with Pilot DR pigment ink pens and india ink brush pen on
translucent vellum. The drawing is in a 12" x 16" OPUS black metal
exhibition frame.
