Sculptural Fountain by Lionel Thomas 1965
| Lionel Thomas designed and built this sculptural fountain, installed on the plaza of Beach Towers, 1600 Beach Avenue. There are two similar sculptures, one at each end of the plaza. The City of Vancouver public art website notes both, has a photograph of one, and states that "they have been removed." Rumors of their demise are premature, but their condition is deteriorating. The mosaic tile work looks like it will last a thousand years. The fountain at the east end of the plaza has broken off its pedestal and tilted about 10 degrees to the east.
