Maud Sherman pen and ink drawings

These eighteen little pen and ink drawings by Maud Sherman may have been assembled as part of an application to attend the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts. They were donated to me by Mrs. Joan Dendys, who had acquired them directly from June Sherman, Maud's niece. The drawings are variously signed M.S., M.R.S., M. Sherman, and Maud Sherman. None of them are titled on the front, but I discovered that many were titled on the back. After carefully removing the drawings from the backing sheet, titles found included Retrospect, A Dream, Savary Island, Venice, Sunrise on Grouse Mountain, Time, Admonition, A Life's Bather, The Voice, and A Picnic. A few also had little sketches of other designs that weren't finished.
