Front cover of the Canadian Industrial Reader

This reference book by R.S. Sherman and Elmer W. Reid,
both teachers with the Vancouver School Board, was
published in 1926. It includes a chapter on weather by Sherman's brother
Eustace (Stacey) Shearman, who was Vancouver's weatherman from 1918 to 1948. The original pen & ink cover art for the Reader is seen below. It was drawn oversize, on heavy illustration board, and then reduced for printing to the size as noted: "5-1/8 bare." |
