Cover design - Vancouver School of Art Behind the Palette for 1939-40

I acquired this issue of Behind the Palette quite unexpectedly at a book sale. The cover gives a glimpse of the amazing amount of work that went into this student production. The cover stock has been reverse embossed in the shape of a paint palette. A piece of green chrome cardboard has been cut and glued into the embossment. A translucent wrap is over the cover, letterpress printed with the cover design and the school's logo lower right (designed by J.W.G. MacDonald). Donated by the Editor to the National Gallery of Canada Library and Archives.
