Olive Kerr was a student at the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts, passing second year courses in June 1933.

She was a student at the short-lived BC College of Arts in Vancouver, attending the stage-craft and theatre-arts classes in 1933-34. The classes produced a modern adaption to Ben Jonson's comedy play Volpone at the College in January 1934, the play was well received by the press.
