Miss Briton was one of the earliest artists to exhibit in Vancouver, in the Vancouver
Art Association's First Annual Exhibition in 1890. The
painting was on loan from the Hardiman Gallery, so it is possible that Miss Briton was
not a local artist, although the painting is of a glacier.
