Frederick Herbert Palmer sculpture 1945
This life-sized sculpture is apparently made of fired clay that has been bronzed. It is
signed at the bottom "Frederick H. Palmer 1945." It is hollow, and has a piece of felt
glued to the bottom of it. BC Vital Statistics has a death certificate for Palmer that
notes he worked as an "architectural bronze founder" at a foundry "during most of his
working life" although it doesn't say where, or how long he lived in Canada, or when
he retired. He was born in England, and died in Oak Bay Lodge seniors home, 2251 Cadboro Bay
Road, Victoria in 1983 at the age of 80. His widow Dorothy died the next year.
