This photograph was published in the 1913-14 Annual of the
Provincial Normal School. It shows the
north facade of the building just a few years after construction. The
photographer would have been standing on the upper floor of a wood
frame house on 10th Avenue, and is thus looking down on 10th Avenue but
almost level with the school. Cambie Street is just visible on the left,
and 12th Avenue runs behind the school, fronted with houses on the south
side. Since the 1970s two high-rise residential towers have stood
where the houses are, the hotel on the corner was designed by
Ross Lort of Lort and Lort Architects.
