This is the Harding Memorial in Stanley Park, Vancouver, commissioned to commemorate the visit of United States President Harding to this city. Each of the two eagles is about five feet high. Both of the eagles had their beaks cut off some years ago, presumably by an anti-American activist. They were recovered and welded back on. All photographs by Gary Sim, various dates, except postcards and Stuart Thomson photo unveiling of the memorial. |
