Walter James Baber

1855 - October 18 1924

Walter James Baber was born in London, England. He arrived in Canada in 1897, and settled in New Westminster, according to the brief biography by Uno Langmann in Early Western Canadian Watercolours.

Baber died in New Westminster in 1924 aged 69, according to B.C. Vital Statistics.

The Editor has seen a few Baber watercolours at auction over the years. They have all been small paintings of coastal scenes or the Fraser River.
